The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, promising to mobilize support across all 774 local government areas and deliver at least five million votes for his re-election.
RTEAN President Musa Maitakobi made the announcement on Sunday in Abuja while hosting a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Jagaban Squad. During the visit, Maitakobi was formally installed as Life Patron of the group.
Maitakobi said RTEAN’s nationwide network and strong membership base positioned it to play a decisive role in the 2027 elections. “RTEAN chairmen in every state are fully committed to ensuring victory for the APC. Once the campaign officially begins, our mobilisation efforts will be intensified,” he said.
As part of its support, RTEAN donated a fully branded bus to the Jagaban Squad to enhance visibility and operational mobility in the Federal Capital Territory. The bus will carry the group’s insignia and photographs of President Tinubu and will serve as a mobile platform for its activities. Plans are also ongoing to secure additional buses for nationwide mobilisation.

Maitakobi described RTEAN as one of the most organized political support structures in Nigeria, with functional leadership in all local government areas and over five million registered members. He also highlighted the association’s active involvement in the 2023 election, noting their presence at campaign rallies in Jos, Kano, Ogun, and Jigawa.
Looking ahead, Maitakobi assured that RTEAN’s efforts in 2027 would surpass previous campaigns. He also commended the Tinubu administration for transformative initiatives in the transport sector, including the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles and filling stations, which have benefited transport unions and labour centres.
The National Coordinator of the APC Jagaban Squad, Adekunle Alebiosu, praised RTEAN’s support, describing the association as a formidable organization capable of boosting grassroots mobilisation for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
