Another crisis is currently brewing at the Imo State House of Assembly over purported plot to impeach the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe.
The plot allegedly hatched by four members of the house according to an impeccable source from the State Assembly has led to their suspension on Tuesday.
The suspended lawmakers included Ahiazu-Mbaise, Samuel Otuibe; Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Henry Agbasonu; Okigwe, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa and Oru-West, Dominic Ezerioha.
The decision to suspend according to the Speaker who confirmed their suspension was taken at the executive session of the house .
The Speaker also announced that all standing Committees belonging to the suspended members have been retrieved from them.
It was also gathered that during the plenary, the Speaker made minor reshufflement on the standing Committees.
Some of the suspended members present during the announcement have declined to comment on the matter, but one of them, Ezerioha representing Oru West told our correspondent when contacted that “he’s yet to know why he was suspended ” even as he denied being part of those hatching the plot to impeach the Speaker.
