“Jimmy Carter, the longest-living former President of the United States, stands as a paragon of statesmanship, a beacon of hope who has ardently championed the cause of world peace both during his illustrious tenure and in the years of his tranquil retirement.
“As we gather to commemorate the monumental occasion of his 100th birthday, it is fitting to recall the monumental legacy he forged through the Camp David Peace Accord, an historic pact that forged a pathway to reconciliation between Egypt and Israel.
“Through this seminal agreement, the spectre of conflict was laid to rest as both nations pledged to cease hostilities and reestablish diplomatic relations, allowing Egypt to reclaim the Sinai Peninsula—a testament to diplomacy’s profound potential.
“Yet, Carter’s fervor for peace transcended the boundaries of the Camp David Treaty; even in the twilight of his political career, his unwavering commitment to fostering harmony in the Middle East remained undiminished.
“Moreover, he emerged as a stalwart advocate for the world’s developing nations, including Nigeria, tirelessly championing their advancement and well-being.
“Carter embodies the very essence of integrity and selfless service to humanity. The world holds deep reverence for this noble statesman, whose life has been devoted to the betterment of mankind.
“As he celebrates this remarkable centenary milestone, I extend my heartfelt wishes, brimming with warmth and admiration, on this momentous occasion. -AA”
