An explosion which took place in an Islamic school in Abuja has killed one student and left four others injured.
The explosion, which occurred at about noon, Monday, was said to have taken place when the students were being taught how to make improvised explosive devices (IED).
A top police source who confirmed the cause of the explosion said the police have already commenced an investigation into the matter.
The source, who does not want to be mentioned in print, further confirmed that operatives of the police bomb disposal unit have arrived at the scene of the explosion to carry out investigations into the cause of the explosion.
When contacted, the FCT police command public relations officer, Josephine Adeh, promised to get back as soon as she gets further details about the explosion.
