In a strong show of unity and compassion, the Edo and Kano State Governments have teamed up to seek justice for the 16 victims recently killed in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Governor Monday Okpebholo made this known in Benin City yesterday, while receiving a high-level delegation from Kano State led by the Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo. The visit was part of a joint effort to uncover the truth and prevent future tragedies.
The victims, believed to be hunters from Kano State, were killed in a mysterious attack that has shocked the nation. In response, both the Federal Government and Edo State Government have set up a fact-finding committee to investigate what really happened and provide answers to grieving families.

“This sad incident has opened our eyes. We are committed to making life better and safer for everyone,” Governor Okpebholo said. “President Tinubu is very concerned about this case. He wants it thoroughly investigated and has asked that no stone be left unturned.”
The governor also commended the Kano State Government for their swift response, which included identifying the victims and their next-of-kin. He promised that the findings of the joint committee would be made public to ensure transparency and rebuild trust.
