The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has announced the launch of the second phase of its Accelerator Programme, which will kick off on July 18, 2025, in Abuja. This exciting initiative is aimed at supporting startups that use satellite and space-related technologies to solve real problems across agriculture, healthcare, education, climate, and more.
With the theme “Innovation in Orbit: Empowering the Next Generation of Space-Tech Entrepreneurs,” the programme is designed to push Nigeria’s digital economy forward by encouraging homegrown solutions in critical sectors like logistics, robotics, and infrastructure.
The journey begins on June 20, 2025, with a structured onboarding process. Participants will then go through weeks of training, mentorship, business development, and product refinement. All of this will lead to a Demo Day in October, where selected startups will pitch their ideas to investors and global players.

According to Mrs. Maureen Nzekwe, the Programme Coordinator, the first phase saw 281 applications, with 35 startups reaching the final stage. She also celebrated the increased number of female-led startups, showing NIGCOMSAT’s strong push for gender inclusion in science and innovation.
