The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared itself the political party best positioned to redeem Nigeria, insisting that only its brand of leadership can bring lasting change to the country.
Speaking during a campaign gathering in Kwali Area Council, the party’s leaders and supporters emphasized that ADC represents a “new face” of politics, particularly for the youth who, they believe, are tired of recycled politicians and failed promises.
A party chieftain, while addressing journalists, said the ADC’s focus is to elevate Kwali from its current state of underdevelopment to a new level of growth and opportunity. He argued that the council has suffered neglect for years, stressing that only a capable and youthful leadership can drive the change the people need.
Responding to concerns about electoral intimidation and manipulation by bigger parties, the ADC maintained that it is not afraid of political “muzzle,” noting that true power lies with the people.
“Once you have your people, you shouldn’t be scared because it is one man, one vote. By the grace of God, we beg that INEC should do the needful. That is the only way democracy can survive,” one of the leaders said.
The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure credible polls while appealing to its supporters to resist vote-buying.

“We normally see how money flows during elections, but we are pleading with our people not to sell their rights. If they reject money, we will win magically,” another speaker noted.
Highlighting the achievements of its candidate for the council chairmanship, the party recalled his track record in grassroots empowerment, describing him as a man with the capacity, talent, and vision to deliver the dividends of democracy if elected.
The immediate past National Organising Secretary of the party, who conducted the primaries, revealed that over 2,000 defectors from other parties had joined ADC in recent weeks, an indication of the momentum the party is gaining across the FCT.
He said the ADC candidate had earned the trust of his community through visible projects and empowerment programmes, and that his election would guarantee more developmental strides.

“This is somebody that has done tremendously well even without being in office. If given the mandate, he will do much more. That is why the people themselves asked him to contest, and they are ready to defend their votes,” he said.
The ADC called on residents of Kwali and the wider FCT to come out en masse and vote during the elections, assuring that the party has developed strategies to resist intimidation and ensure the people’s mandate is protected
