Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on residents to remain calm amid the fresh impeachment moves initiated by the Rivers State House of Assembly against him.
Speaking during a church service held to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the governor assured the people that the situation would be resolved, the they should remain calm.
Fubara said his decision to remain silent despite the political distractions surrounding the impeachment process was deliberate, explaining that he draws strength from his faith in God.

Speaking also at the event, the Rivers State deputy governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, also addressed the congregation.
In her remarks, the Deputy Governor who is also a victim of the impeachment plot thanked worshippers for attending the service and urged them to conduct themselves properly.
She also referenced the sermon by the Dean of the Anglican Communion, Archbishop Blessing Eyinda, who warned that every action would be remembered in due time.

Professor Odu further appealed to the people of Rivers State to continue supporting the administration through prayers, describing such support as key to sustaining the government.
