Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned Kano billionaire and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away at the age of 95.
In a heartfelt condolence message to the family, Dr. Jonathan described the late Dantata as “a respected industrialist, distinguished patriarch, and outstanding philanthropist” whose impact on Nigeria’s growth cannot be forgotten.
According to the former President, Dantata’s passing marks a significant loss to the country, particularly in the areas of business, philanthropy, and community development.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of elder statesman and accomplished businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata,” Jonathan wrote. “His death is a great loss to the nation, especially given his considerable contributions to entrepreneurship, economic development, and community service.”
He praised Dantata’s enduring influence on Nigeria’s private sector, saying his vision, humility, and passion for humanity set him apart.
“As a patriarch of the Dantata family and a custodian of values that promote peace, entrepreneurship, and education, he leaves behind a rich legacy that will continue to inspire generations.”
Jonathan also offered prayers for comfort to the grieving family, friends, and the people of Kano State, praying that God grants the late business mogul eternal rest.
