The strange circumstances surrounding the untimely death of Keren-Happuch Aondodoo Akpagher, a 14-year-old SS1 student of Premiere Academy Lugbe, Abuja, has continued to generate angry reactions from her loved ones, including her heartbroken mother, Mrs Vivien Akpagher, who is demanding justice for her tragic death.
Activists have intensified calls for justice for Keren Akpagher, who died after being raped in Lugbe, Abuja.
The 14-year-old was sexually assaulted while in school at Premier Academy in June 2021.
In the latest development, child and gender rights activists Lemmy Ughegbe took the protest to Makurdi, the Benue state capital – home state of Late Karen.
Ughegbe led other residents through the streets of Makurdi, demanding justice.
The protest, which started at the IBB Square, also touched the Benue State house of Assembly and the Government House to make their demands known.
Karen died at Queens Hospital, Wuse, Abuja, on 22 June 2021.
Though the FCT Police Command has conducted an autopsy, investigation is still ongoing in the matter.
