The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has received a major boost in Lagos State as coalition partners in Alimosho Local Government Area formally declared their membership and loyalty to the party, setting the stage for what leaders described as a new chapter ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Chief Osoba Compound, Osoba Street, Iyana Ipaja, was presided over by the ADC Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Pastor Wesley Odeyemi, who described the coalition as “a significant step towards ensuring the success of our great party at all levels.”
In his address, Odeyemi noted that the African Democratic Congress has over the years emerged as a rallying point for Nigerians seeking credible political alternatives.
“It is not by accident that Providence has positioned ADC as the leading voice of opposition parties in Nigeria,” he said. “Integrity fetched ADC its toga as the untainted party. Those who doubt our unblemished credentials are free to verify this fact.”
The chairman reaffirmed that the ADC’s mission since inception has been to secure power not for its own sake, but to deploy it for positive change, guided by the principles of democracy, social justice, and people-centered governance.

Mobilization and Inclusion
Odeyemi emphasized that politics is a game of numbers and revealed that the ADC has been deliberate in mobilizing men, women, youths, and persons with disabilities across the country.
“The ADC boasts a robust constitution that entrenches 35% affirmation for women, youths, and PWDs. These mobilization efforts are yielding positive results that even the ruling party finds threatening,” he declared.
Warning Against Sabotage in ADC
While celebrating the coalition, the party also raised concerns about infiltration by detractors.
“The threat of moles is palpable and humongous,” Odeyemi warned. “Eternal vigilance remains the only potent weapon against such elements. All true ADC faithfuls must stay alert.
The ADC leader urged members and new coalition partners to remain united, describing the coalition as an opportunity to build a stronger front.
“Time has come for us to unite and collapse all our networks and networths towards building a bigger and better ADC,” he said, stressing the party’s zero tolerance for indiscipline, a policy reiterated by the national and state leadership.
Odeyemi highlighted the party’s recent electoral successes, including victories in Anambra and Kaduna by-elections.
“These victories clearly show that the fortunes of our party are on a northward trajectory,” he said, insisting that the ADC is well-positioned to challenge the ruling establishment in 2027.
