The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised the alarm over growing cases of fraud involving fake state chairmen lists and online payment scams falsely linked to the party.
In a strong warning issued on Tuesday, the party clarified that it had no knowledge of any appointment of state chairmen currently being shared on social media and distanced itself completely from the lists and websites involved.
According to a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary and spokesperson of the opposition coalition, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the public should rely only on official communication channels.

“If it’s not from our verified X (formerly Twitter) page @BolajiADC, please ignore it,” the party stated.
Even more worrying, the ADC revealed that some individuals have launched fake online platforms, claiming to offer membership registration for a fee. The party described these actions as criminal and advised Nigerians not to fall victim.
“Some people are trying to cheat unsuspecting citizens by pretending to register them into our party. This is fake, and we strongly condemn it,” Abdullahi added.

The ADC urged the public to stay alert, verify all information from credible sources, and avoid making any payments online unless confirmed by the party itself.
The party said it will soon release official guidelines for legitimate membership registration and opposition coalition activities.
