A very crucial meeting involving Gov. Nyesom Wike and some Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ended in Abuja Without positive footnotes.
The Meeting which was held at the Asokoro Lodge of the Rivers State government, had in attendance Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state.
The meeting, which symfoninews understands was summoned to find a middle ground towards resolving post-convention squabbles in the party, lasted for more than three hours.
A former Information Minister Prof. Jerry Gana, who spoke after the meeting, said that new developments are expected in the party in the next few days.
According to him, the party leadership will address all necessary issues and inform its members about the new developments.
Wike is said to be unhappy with the Presidential Candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for allegedly snubbing him in the search for a running mate.
He has also been quoted severally in the news as promising to expose the ills of the party as a way to get back at Atiku for the snub.
Wike, who had said that Atiku lied in his recent interview on AriseTV, is however said to be seeking the face of the candidate and has recruited his close allies, to help plead his cause.
Other people at the meeting include former governors of Cross River state, Mr Donald Duke, Gabriel Suswam of Benue state, Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state, Ibrahim Idris of Kogi state and former Plateau state governor Jonah Jang.
An embattled PDP governorship candidate in Kano state, Mohammed Abacha, was also sighted at the meeting.
