At the 2025 Health Conference in Abuja, Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, delivered a powerful message: “We must bridge the healthcare gap.”
Speaking on the theme “Bridging the Gap: Advancing Equitable and Affordable Access to Healthcare in Nigeria,” Dr. Oreh stressed that every Nigerian — regardless of location, income, or background — deserves quality medical care.
Drawing from her work in Rivers State, she shared how improved blood policies have helped save mothers and children and how outreach programs are bringing healthcare to remote and conflict-hit areas.

Dr. Oreh urged leaders, healthcare workers, and partners to unite in breaking the barriers that keep millions from getting the care they need. “Healthcare should never be a privilege. It must be a right for all,” she said.
