Justice Binta Murtala Nyako has thrown out the bail application brought by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Dismissing the bail application, Justice Nyako said it was an abuse of court process as the bail was first granted in 2017 but abused.
Stating that the matter was yet to progress to the substantive issue, Justice Nyako said the case had suffered 15 adjournments aimed at frustrating the trial.
Justice Nyako urged the Kanu legal team to approach the Court of Appeal over the bail issue while urging that the matter progress.
Meanwhile, the Federal High Court Abuja, the venue of the trial, came under intense security lockdown as Kanu arrived for the resumption of the trial.
Armed DSS officials kept journalists at a distance while frisking them before access to the court.
Kanu had in an application for bail prayed the court to release him on health grounds, pending the determination of the charge against him.
