Former Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, has officially stepped down following the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a heartfelt press statement, Dr. Oreh expressed profound gratitude to Governor Fubara for the opportunity to serve the people of Rivers State and contribute to the administration’s vision for a healthier, more equitable society.
Reflecting on her tenure, she highlighted several key achievements, including strengthening primary healthcare, improving maternal and child health outcomes, expanding access to quality services, promoting accountability, and building strong partnerships with development organizations.
Dr. Oreh also praised the state’s health workforce, calling them the “heartbeat of the health system,” and commended their dedication, professionalism, and compassion in serving communities across Rivers State.
Though stepping aside in line with the governor’s directive, Dr. Oreh reaffirmed her commitment to championing stronger health systems, equitable access to healthcare, and community-driven initiatives in the future.

“I will continue to champion innovative policies and public service in our state and beyond,” she said, urging healthcare workers to sustain their excellence and the people of Rivers State to remain engaged in building a brighter future.
