As Muslims in Rivers State and around the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir (Salah), Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged them to hold on tightly to the values of sacrifice, unity, and faith-describing them as the foundation for personal growth and a stronger society.
Speaking through his Salah (Eid-el-Kabir) message on Friday, Governor Fubara reminded the faithful that the festival isn’t just about rituals, but about reflecting on life’s deeper lessons—especially the willingness to give up something precious for the greater good.
“Sacrifice is the bridge to progress,” he declared, pointing to the story of Prophet Ibrahim as a timeless example of trust in God and obedience, even in hard times.
Governor Fubara acknowledged that Nigerians, including residents of Rivers State, have made many sacrifices in the face of economic hardship and political uncertainties. But he assured them that these efforts are not in vain.
“We know the times are tough,” he said, “but with unity, faith, and kindness to one another, we will build the stable and peaceful society we all desire.”

The Governor called on Muslims to use this sacred period to reach out to the less privileged, forgive old grievances, and pray for lasting peace in Rivers State and Nigeria. He stressed that true religious celebration is not complete without showing love to those in need.
