Barring any last-minute change of plans, Edison Ehie, who in a letter dated December 29, 2023, quit his membership of the Rivers State House of Assembly, is to be named the new Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Ehie was until he resigned from the State legislature, also Speaker of a faction of the Assembly loyal to Gov. Fubara.
He shocked his constituents and admirers on December 31 when he announced that he had stepped down as Speaker as well as quit membership of the Assembly.
