The list of presidential hopefuls in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stretched farther by the ambition of three more aspirants.
All three leaders of the party declared their intention to run for the 2023 presidential elections on Wednesday.
While Mr Fayemi and Mr Oshiomole had their ceremonies in Abuja, Akpabio hosted a mammoth crowd in Ikot Ekpene.
Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi stated that “It is the spirit of the abiding faith and promised of unfinished greatness, that I stand before you today in total humility and sense of responsibility to solemnly declare to all within our party and Nigerians at large, my decision to accept my name to be put forward for consideration by the All Progressive Congress leadership and membership as our party standard-bearer in the upcoming contests for a successor to our leader President Muhammadu Buhari.”
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole during his declaration at the Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture, Area 10, Abuja promised to address all the Labour issues affecting Nigeria.
Oshiomole who had earlier declared to contest the Edo North Senatorial District election said “I want Nigeria to be described as the smartest country on the continent under my presidency”.
Meanwhile, there was a massive turnout of supporters of All Progressives Congress, APC, Akwa Ibom State for the formal presidential declaration by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking to the mammoth crowd during his declaration at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, the former Akwa Ibom State Governor stated that he would restore the days of glory experienced in Akwa Ibom to the country.
