The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Femi Fani-Kayode.
FFK, as he is fondly called, was arrested at a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, and moved to the EFCC office also in Ikoyi.
The former Minister of Aviation was in court over an alleged N4.6bn fraud.
He is standing trial alongside a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Yusuf Danjuma, and a company, Join-Trust Dimensions Nigeria Ltd. on a 17-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N4.6billion.
The presiding Judge, Justice Daniel Osaigor of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, adjourned the matter till January 24, 2022, for further hearing.
However, on leaving the court, Fani-Kayode was accosted by EFCC officials who moved him to custody – one week after his last arrest.
An EFCC investigator, Shehu Shuaibu, said the ex-Minister of Aviation was being quizzed over false documents.
