Former presidential aide and social commentator, Reno Omokri, has reacted to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari with a heartfelt prayer and message of respect.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Omokri shared his condolences, invoking a strong line from Islamic tradition: “From God we came and to Him we return.”
He continued, “My family and I pray that Almighty God grants President Muhammadu Buhari al-Jannah Firdaus. May his sins be forgiven, and may As-Sami, (The All-Hearing), grant his family the fortitude to bear their loss.”
Despite being a vocal critic of Buhari during his time in office, Reno Omokri acknowledged the late President’s service to the nation. “He served Nigeria in peacetime and war and left a legacy that was worthy of emulation in many areas,” he added.
President Buhari passed away on Sunday in London at the age of 82.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon while Vice president Shettima is on his way to bring his remains from London.
