A former Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Edo State, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, has been nominated by Gov. Momday Okpebholo for appointment as commissioner.
Afegbua, who was a spokesman of the Okpebholo Governorship Campaign team had also functioned as spokesman to former Military president, General Ibrahim Babangida.
Afegbua is a seasoned journalist, public affairs commentator, and politician with extensive experience in governance and media strategy.
He is a graduate of English and Literary Studies with further training in media relations and political communication.
Also nominated to join Okpebholo’s cabinet are , Ohimai Ehijimetor, Eugenia Abdallah, and Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi.
Ehijimetor is a graduate of civil engineering from the University of Benin, with over 14 years of experience in project management, team leadership, and business development.
He currently serves as the Managing Director of Jackhammar Services Limited, while Abdallah is a creative, self-directed executive and an excellent team player, with qualifications in Humanities and Administration. She brings to the role over 10 years of experience in the banking industry.

A statement from.the State Government said Hon. Eshieshi is an astute politician, businessman and community leader, who holds degrees in Government and Public Administration as well as International Relations.
“He previously served as a Member of the Edo State House of Assembly (1992 – 1993) and as Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council (May 1999 – April 2002),”
According to the statement, Governor Okpebholo further approved the appointment of Aigbogun Collins, the immediate past Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council as Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization and Osobase Oboaguina as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Edo Central.
