“I am not a political prostitute, I’m APC for Life” – Kebbi Gov. Idris Reaffirms Amidst Defection Rumours

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has firmly declared that he will never abandon the All Progressives Congress (APC), putting to rest fresh rumours about his alleged defection plan to join another political group.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, on Sunday, the governor dismissed the rumours as “the jokes of political comedians” and stressed that he remains fully committed to the APC, the party that brought him to power.

Dr. Idris, fondly known as Kauran Gwandu, said he is “made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” and has no reason to leave a party he described as reliable and formidable. “I am not a political prostitute,” he said sharply, making it clear that he would not be swayed by any coalition, no matter who is behind it.

The governor’s statement comes after social media chatter linked him and four other unnamed governors to a movement allegedly being championed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. But Idris quickly brushed off the claims, stating, “If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing.”

He also assured the people of Kebbi that his main focus remains on good governance and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria. “I am committed to the growth of our state and the success of the APC,” he said.

Dr. Idris described Kebbi as a “solid APC state” and laughed off any suggestions of political disloyalty as nothing more than a “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”
