The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has extended warm congratulations to its members and all lovers of democracy across Nigeria, while commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, for safeguarding the nation’s multi-party system.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the party said the electoral umpire has once again demonstrated its commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and the constitutional right of Nigerians to enjoy a robust democratic process.
“The ADC congratulates all its members and every Nigerian who believes in the democratic project. We also commend INEC and its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, for standing on the right side of history and for defending the cause of multi-party democracy,” the statement read.

The party noted that the survival of Nigeria’s democracy depends on the protection of political plurality, stressing that democracy thrives when citizens are offered genuine choices at the polls.
According to the ADC, attempts to weaken or sideline smaller political parties not only undermine Nigeria’s democratic gains but also contradict the spirit of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of association and political participation.
