The Chief Magistrate Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behaviour and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight, after the police formally withdrew all charges against her.
Chief Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami made the ruling on Tuesday, striking out the case after prosecutors informed the court that the complainants were no longer interested in pursuing the matter.
Emmanson, who had been in the spotlight following the late July incident, was alleged to have refused to comply with safety instructions during a Lagos-bound Ibom Air flight and to have assaulted a crew member. The altercation, captured on video, went viral and sparked heated public debate about passenger conduct and in-flight safety enforcement in Nigeria.

In court, the police withdrew the case, stating that there was no need to proceed further. The defence did not oppose the move, leading to her immediate discharge.

Ibom Air had earlier issued a statement defending the professionalism of its crew during the incident, insisting that all actions taken were in line with aviation safety protocols.
