Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, on Wednesday announced the immediate sack of all Commissioners and public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgement.
Governor Fubara made this known during a valedictory session held with members of his cabinet at the Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Calls for Unity and Renewed Commitment to Nation Building
In his remarks as signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara thanked members of his cabinet for their selfless services and contributions to the development of Rivers State in the past two years. He underscored the importance of Nigeria’s Independence, urging all citizens to unite with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation.
The Governor further assured Rivers people of his renewed vigor to continue serving the state diligently, while expressing gratitude for their continuous support. He extended warm Independence greetings to all Nigerians, wishing the country a brighter future.
The Governor’s action officially relieves Commissioners and public officers directly affected by the Supreme Court ruling of their appointments, effective immediately.
