The people of Kirike Kingdom in Rivers State are celebrating a major milestone — eight years of inspiring and impactful leadership by their traditional ruler, His Majesty King Air Commodore Tamuno-Omisiki Emmanuel Opuiyo Ogube (Rtd).
Since ascending the throne in 2016, King Ogube has led with wisdom, unity, and vision. His reign began at a time when the Kingdom faced deep divisions and fading traditions. But through his calm leadership and strategic thinking, he brought people together and restored pride in the Kingdom’s rich heritage.
Under his watch, Kirike has grown into a symbol of cultural rebirth and community progress. Young people are more hopeful, women are actively involved in development, and elders feel respected and valued once again. The Kingdom has also made progress in education, youth empowerment, and cultural diplomacy.
King Ogube has shown that traditional leadership can embrace both heritage and innovation. By blending royal authority with intellect, spirituality, and modern ideas, he has raised the Kingdom’s profile both within Rivers State and beyond.
As the Kingdom marks this anniversary, the people reflect not just on the years passed, but on the transformation that has taken place. King Ogube is praised for his “reign of ideas, of healing, of resilience,” and for being a true builder of peace and progress.
