The abducted Ojibara of Bayagan in Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, and six other victims have escaped from bandits’ captivity following a fierce raid by local vigilantes deep inside the Eku Idaji forest.
The vigilantes reportedly overpowered the bandits during a heavy gunfight, allowing the captives to flee. The monarch has since contacted his community to confirm his escape, although he has not yet arrived home.
Before the escape, the bandits had demanded N150 million ransom and forced the monarch to speak with his community to authenticate his abduction.
