Former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, over the ongoing crisis rocking the Labour Party.
In a post shared on his X handle on Monday, Omokri threw jabs at Obi, insinuating that he was the cause of the political crisis that has engulfed the Labour party.
In recent weeks there has been leadership crisis in the Labour Party which has led to a faction of the party loyal to Julius Abure, the embattled national chairman, withdrawing the automatic presidential and gubernatorial tickets previously reserved for Peter Obi and Alex Otti for the 2027 election.
Reacting to the development, Reno Omokri took to his social media handle to recount how Obi had problems with his erstwhile party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and a similar situation that arose after he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Omokri, the political crises that repeatedly surfaced in the various parties that Obi had belonged to, are indications that Obi, not the party, is the real problem.
“If you had problems in APGA, then you experienced the same issues in the PDP, and now you are witnessing the same challenges in the Labour Party, it may be time to accept that these parties are not the problem. You are the recurring decimal. You are the constant presence. Therefore, you are the problem. Even if you move to another party, your shadow will still follow you,” Omokri wrote.
Mr Obi, however, is yet to respond to Omokri’s claims at the time of filing this report.
