Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, Tactical Team Isheri, have successfully dismantled a notorious car theft syndicate, arresting four suspects and recovering a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
According to the police, the operation followed a report received on August 1, 2025, involving the theft of a vehicle linked to one Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, a 31-year-old male suspect. Detectives immediately launched an intelligence-driven investigation which led to the arrest of Abdullahi in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Further investigations extended to Kano State, where three of his accomplices were apprehended. They include Yenusa Salihu (45), a mechanic; Baba Jero Idris (49), a car dealer; and Abdullahi Aliyu (41), a businessman. Police operatives also recovered the stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus in Kano during the coordinated raid.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the swift response and intelligence-led tactics that led to the syndicate’s downfall. He assured residents and visitors that the Command remains committed to deploying advanced policing strategies to combat vehicle theft and other crimes across the state.The suspects are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
