Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad, India.
In a heartfelt statement, Tinubu
extended his condolences to his counterpart, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government, and the people of India.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government, and the people of the Republic of India following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad,” Tinubu said.
He described the incident as a painful reminder of how delicate life is and how connected humanity truly is.
“The tragedy of Air India reminds us, once again, of the fragility of life and the common bond of humanity that holds us together.”
President Tinubu added that Nigeria stands firmly with India during this time of grief and mourning.
“At this moment of sorrow and pain, Nigeria stands in solidarity with our friend, brother and partner, Narendra Modi, and the people of India. Nigeria also deeply sympathises with the families and friends of other victims on board the aircraft.”
He concluded his message with prayers for the souls of the departed and strength for their loved ones.
“May the Almighty receive the souls of the departed and comfort their families.”
