NCSC: As Nigeria’s digital space continues to expand, the federal government is taking bold steps to secure it. The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced plans to host the first-ever National CyberSecurity Conference (NCSC 2025), a landmark event aimed at strengthening the country’s defense against growing cyber threats.
The conference, which will take place on July 9–10, 2025 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, is being organised by NITDA in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), with support from global event partner QNA International, Dubai.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa described the upcoming conference as more than just a gathering of experts. “This is more than a conference—it’s a national mission,” he declared. “As Nigeria transforms into a digital economy, we must ensure our cyberspace is safe, resilient, and future-ready.”

The conference, themed “Securing Nigeria’s Digital Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Resilience,” will feature a mix of live technical sessions, global expert discussions, and product exhibitions. A key highlight will be a “Capture the Flag” hackathon, designed to engage and spotlight young Nigerian tech talent.
According to NITDA, the goal is not only to prevent cybercrime but also to build a strong ecosystem for cybersecurity innovation and collaboration across sectors. Government agencies, private companies, civil society, academia, and the media have all been invited to play a role in the national digital security effort.
The Director-General warned that as Nigeria grows as Africa’s tech hub, it also becomes a bigger target for cybercriminals. “We must act fast, work together, and invest in our people—especially our youth—if we are to stay ahead of the threats,” he said.

He also praised the role of the media in raising public awareness. “We’re counting on the media to help Nigerians understand what’s at stake. Cybersecurity isn’t just for the tech world—it affects every household, every business, and every citizen,” he said.
The NCSC 2025 will also include an award ceremony to honour key contributors to Nigeria’s cybersecurity progress and provide a networking platform for stakeholders across the public and private sectors.
