The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has scored a major security breakthrough after intercepting a suspicious consignment from Bangkok, Thailand, containing seven pouches of cannabis cleverly concealed inside a duvet cover.
The package, which landed in Lagos and was addressed to a recipient within the state, was flagged during routine checks. Identities of both the sender and receiver are being kept under wraps as security agencies have taken over investigations.

NIPOST, in a statement, emphasized that the interception highlights its firm resolve to keep Nigeria’s postal system safe, trustworthy, and free from criminal exploitation. Officials confirmed that the case has been handed over to the appropriate security authorities for further action.
