The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has introduced a new annual award system known as the Public Relations, Reputation, Ideas, Concepts and Excellence (PRICE) Awards to recognise outstanding achievements and innovation in public relations practice across Nigeria. The maiden edition of the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
The PRICE Awards is designed to serve as the Institute’s flagship platform for curating, showcasing and celebrating excellence in strategic communication, creativity and impactful public relations campaigns across sectors. The initiative is also expected to strengthen Nigeria’s visibility and competitiveness in the global public relations ecosystem.
The development reached a milestone in September 2025 when the NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, inaugurated a 12-member Organising Committee to plan and deliver the inaugural ceremony. While inaugurating the committee, Neliaku expressed confidence in its capacity to produce a world-class event, noting that the Institute expects a prestigious, colourful and credible awards platform that reflects the best of Nigerian public relations practice. He said the award system would inspire greater professional excellence while enhancing the brand equity of both the Institute and practitioners.
Responding on behalf of the Committee, Chairman Israel Jaiye Opayemi, a Fellow of the Institute and Managing Director/Chief Strategist of Chain Reactions Africa, pledged that the team would deliver a best-in-class awards administration and ceremony. He stated that Nigerian public relations professionals have consistently excelled on international stages, and the time had come for such excellence to be recognised and celebrated within the country.

Members of the Organising Committee include Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan (Vice Chairman), Dr. Mary Ikoku, Edemekong Uyoh, Adesola Oyawoye, Odoh Diego Okenyodo, Damilola Olujide, Beatrice Okpara, Prince MG Duku, Chief Patrick Ukah, Mrs. Chidinma Awak (Secretary) and Kater Amos Foga (Assistant Secretary).
