Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last February 25 election, is visiting different IDP camps in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state to celebrate his 62nd birthday.
The IDP camp houses over 18,000 displaced persons.
Obi used the opportunity of the visit to donate food items and cash gifts to them.
Recall that residents of Farinkasa Kerana and Sabon Gari communities in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State were recently thrown into mourning following fresh attacks by gunmen, which left scores of persons dead.
Mr Obi, who was accompanied on the visit by the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, amongst other party leaders, also paid a courtesy visit to the state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
Addressing the governor, Obi commiserated with him and the people of the state on the terror attack.
