Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi has held a closed-door meeting with the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Though there are no details of issues discussed during the meeting, Obi arrived at Government House Port Harcourt at about 9 am and went straight into Wike’s office.
Government House sources said Obi merely acknowledge Greetings from those around before going in to meet with Governor Wike in what is believed to be in continuation of his consultations for the 2023 presidential election.
Obi is the second presidential candidate to have parleyed Wike in the past five days.
Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, had also held a closed-door meeting with Wike.
Wike, who lost out in his recent quest to be the presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is said to be unhappy with the treatment meted out to him by the leadership of the PDP.
Wike, also entered the race to become running mate to the PDP flagbearer but lost out in uncertain circumstances to his Delta State counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa.
