The event, which took place in Abuja and lasted for 7 days, drew national attention and support from political leaders, youth organizations, and proud Nigerians. At the heart of the celebration was the Governor of Ondo State, who not only showed up in person to witness the final moments but also gave his full endorsement of Joshua’s extraordinary feat.
“This is more than just a haircut marathon — it is a message of resilience, focus, and hope,” the governor said. “Joshua has made Ondo State and Nigeria proud. His strength and skill have turned a simple tool like clippers into a symbol of national achievement.”
The governor, visibly impressed by Joshua’s stamina and passion, announced plans to host him officially in Ondo State and use his story to promote tourism and youth empowerment. “He’s already a global brand. We’ll use his success to inspire more young people and spotlight Ondo’s tourist attractions, especially his hometown Ilaje, which boasts the longest and cleanest beach in West Africa,” he added.

For over 6 days, TJ Joshua stood on his feet, barbing hair after hair without rest, determined to set a record that had never been reached before. Supporters watched both physically and online as he powered through each hour with sweat, music, motivation, and strong faith.
In an emotional tribute, a federal lawmaker from his constituency pledged to support his long-term vision — which includes training thousands of barbers and opening over 1,000 barbing salons across Nigeria. “This is not just about Guinness Records,” the lawmaker said. “It’s about turning one man’s passion into a nationwide platform for employment and innovation.”
The event also featured high praise for Joshua’s team, especially his coordinators, volunteers, and the MC/hypeman who kept the energy alive throughout the marathon. Many attendees described the atmosphere as historic and unforgettable.
