The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been accused of causing division among Nigerians and worsening economic and security challenges in the country.
This is according to a member of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, who said Nigeria had been set back since the APC took power in 2015.
Chief Dokpesi said this when he led a delegation from the Atiku Support Group to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki in Government House, Benin City.
He called on PDP faithful to rally round a candidate who has what it takes to rescue Nigeria.
The delegation, which is on a nationwide tour, is seeking the opinions of critical key players as the election year 2023 gradually approaches.
Chief Raymond Dokpesi lamented the current challenges bedevilling Nigeria, which he ascribes to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
“The PDP is the only alternative party that can restore hope to the common man.
” The country needs a formidable politician like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who is tested and has proven leadership qualities to steer the affairs of the nation right,” he said.
Governor Obaseki, in his response, agreed that Nigeria is currently in a difficult situation.
According to the Governor, “It will take extra effort to be able to conduct election in 2023. “
Obaseki, therefore, promised to support whoever the party brings up as a candidate for the election.
