Against the comment that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) does not invite him to its meetings, the party has released evidence that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was allegedly economical with the truth during his recent television interview on Channels Television.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pushed back against claims made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, that the party no longer invites him to its high-level meetings.
Recall that in an interview with the FCT Minister on Tuesday night, Wike explicitly said he never knew about the proposed PDP NEC meeting in Ibadan, infact, there was no meeting scheduled to the best of his knowledge.
However, the PDP has now released what it describes as concrete evidence contradicting Wike’s assertion. The document, a letter dated July 10, 2025, and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu, invited Wike to the 101st meeting of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the PDP NEC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

According to details contained in the document, the meeting was fixed for 2:00 pm prompt at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. The letter also carried a stamp from Wike’s office, acknowledging receipt on July 18, 2025, at 3:19 pm.
The letter read in part:
“This letter serves as an invitation to you, Sir. On behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great Party (PDP), kindly accept our highest consideration and esteemed regards.”
The document was signed by Senator Anyanwu, reinforcing the PDP’s claim that due process was followed in extending the invitation to the minister.

By releasing the letter, the PDP sought to counter Wike’s public narrative that he was being excluded from the party’s decision-making process. Party insiders argue that the former Rivers governor may have deliberately misrepresented facts to portray the leadership as hostile towards him.
