The hope of Sen. Samuel Anyanwu to use the Court of Appeal to hold tight on the office of National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has crashed as a pack of badly arranged cards.
To seek a final reprieve, the embattled ousted party scribe has made a quick sprint to the Supreme Court praying to be granted a stay of execution of the court order that sacked him.
At the apex court, Anyanwu is asking to fast-track hearing to see if he could salvage whatever if left of his perceived honour even after PDP Governors had told him to vacate office and allow his successor, Mr. Sam Ude-Okoye to resume.
The Appeal Court’s denial of Senator Anyanwu’s request for a stay of execution regarding the December 20, 2024 judgment is a significant development in the ongoing legal battle over who is the authentic National Secretary of the PDP.
The Appeal Court’s decision means that Anyanwu remains sacked from office of National Secretary of the PDP.
Pending outcome of Anyanwu’s efforts at the Supreme Court, the subsistence court decision on the office of National Secretary of the PDP, remains in favour of Ude-Okoye.
