Senator Kelvin Chukwu of Enugu East Senatorial District has strongly denied allegations that he resigned from the Labour Party, dismissing a circulating resignation letter as a fabricated attempt to mislead the public.
In a statement released by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Eneh Victor Chigozie, Senator Chukwu labeled the document a “deliberate act of misinformation” designed to sow confusion and damage his reputation. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Labour Party and denounced the letter as the work of political adversaries.
“The letter is entirely fake and did not originate from Senator Kelvin Chukwu or his office,” the statement read. “It is a handiwork of mischief-makers attempting to undermine the Senator’s position.”

Chukwu’s office raised concerns over possible forgery, warning that the perpetrators might be using fraudulent letterheads and signatures to deceive the public or engage in illicit activities. In response, the Senator has petitioned security agencies to investigate the source of the fake letter and bring those responsible to justice.
Adding a deeper layer to the controversy, the statement suggested that individuals linked to the assassination of Barrister Oyibo Chukwu, the Senator’s late elder brother, could be orchestrating this campaign to discredit him.
Supporters of Senator Chukwu and Labour Party members have been urged to stay calm while security agencies probe the matter.
