The Lagos State Police Command has announced that it will carry out an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) simulation exercise, otherwise known as Bomb Stimulation Exercise at the Eko Atlantic City on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
According to the Command, the exercise will be conducted by the Explosives Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit of the Nigeria Police Force as part of efforts to boost emergency response and readiness against bomb-related incidents.
The police explained that the drill will involve controlled detonations, which will produce loud blast sounds. However, there will be no danger to lives or property as all safety measures have been put in place.

Residents, workers, and visitors within the Eko Atlantic City area have been urged not to panic when the sounds are heard but to go about their normal activities.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, appealed for the cooperation of the public, stressing that the exercise is crucial to enhancing security preparedness.
Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, reassured Lagosians that the Command remains fully committed to the safety and well-being of everyone in the state.
