In the aftermath of a horrific attack in a Benue community, popular clergyman and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the victims, calling on Nigerians to rise and say “enough is enough.”
The visit comes following a deadly raid in Yelwata village in Benue where unknown gunmen set homes ablaze, killed families in their sleep, and reportedly burned six children alive. The community has been left in shock and mourning, with several residents still struggling to process the magnitude of the tragedy.

During his visit with the wife, Dr. Becky Enenche went to the very ground where the killings occurred, Pastor Enenche who also happened to hail from Benue State described the attack as “almost a genocidal pogrom,” decrying the wave of violence that continues to sweep across the State and other parts of the country.
“We came to stand with the people in solidarity. We came to let them know that light will never bow to darkness, and darkness will never overcome light,” he declared.
Quoting Jeremiah 18:17, Pastor Enenche led an emotional session of prayers for the victims and invoked divine judgment upon the killers.
“Father, scatter the terrorists. Scatter the killers. Scatter the jihadists. Let the east wind blow and scatter them all,” he prayed as the crowd echoed, “Amen.”
In a symbolic moment, he stood on the very spot where a woman and her children were killed when a wall collapsed on them during the chaos of the attack.
The wall was said to have fallen on someone the previous day. A woman and her children were hiding when it gave way. Six children lost in one night.

Pastor Enenche Calls Out Failed Leadership
When asked what the solution to the killings should be, Pastor Enenche was firmly responded that Nigeria’s leaders have failed her.
“We need leaders—both at the federal and state levels—who have the heart for the people. Leaders who will rise above politics and place human life above every other consideration,” he said.

He added that beyond leadership, the people themselves must no longer remain silent in the face of injustice and bloodshed.
“The people must rise and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ We cannot continue like this. We must take our destiny in our own hands—peacefully, but firmly.”
The most recent massacre is the latest in a series of attacks that have rocked Benue State in recent years. Communities across the state have consistently cried out for protection, while the government has come under heavy criticism for not doing enough to stop the killings.
Besides Pastor Enenche’s visit, political leaders including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has also lent their voice against the Benue massacre. Atiku described the killings in Benue as “unacceptable and called for urgent intervention.”
“We will not be silent. We will not stop praying. We will not stop speaking. Because the blood of the innocent is crying for justice,” Pastor Enenche concluded.
