The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has dragged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to court over the conduct of their primaries.
Joined in the matter are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), PDP Governorship candidate, Similaye Fubara and 31 others.
The PDP and their candidates were dragged before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.
The APC is asking the court to disqualify all the Candidates of the PDP for the 2023 general elections for allegedly delaying forwarding the register containing their candidates’ names to INEC within thirty days as stipulated by law.
The APC also wants the court to disqualify all the PDP candidates in the state for not properly signing the letter containing names of the candidates before forwarding to INEC.
When the matter was mentioned in court, the lawyer to APC, Collins Dike, asked the court to allow them serve the respondents using other means.
The court granted the plea allowing the APC to serve the affected PDP candidates through substituted means.
