The member representing Degema/Bonny Constituency in the House of Representatives, Farah Dagogo, has been arrested.
Farah was arrested at the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening for governorship aspirants in Port Harcourt.
Ibrahim Lawal, Special Adviser, Media to the Lawmaker, in a statement, said Farah was “kidnapped” by officers attached to Rivers state government House.
“The Federal Lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Governorship hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been kidnapped on the directives of Governor Nyesom Wike at the PDP Zonal Office, venue for the screening of governorship aspirants.
“Hon. Dagogo was kidnapped in the governorship screening hall by some Police Officers led by Efeturi Irikefe, the Camp Commandant to the Rivers State Governor and taken to an unknown location,” Lawal said.
Meanwhile, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained Law enforcement agencies from arresting Farah Dagogo.
Director-General of the Department of State Services, Inspector General of Police, Rivers state police command, DSS and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission are all plaintiffs in the matter.
