The Rivers Grassroots Movement (RGM) has officially announced its position as a Rivers group endorsing Tinubu second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election, praising ongoing infrastructure development and improved security efforts in the Niger Delta region as major reasons for its decision.
The declaration was made during a stakeholders’ gathering attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth representatives, community stakeholders, and opinion leaders from across Rivers State. According to the movement, the decision reflects the collective voice of its members across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the event, leaders of the Rivers Grassroots Movement said their endorsement followed careful consultations across communities and was based on visible development projects linked to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group highlighted the completion of the Bonny–Bodo Road as a major breakthrough for riverine communities that had waited many years for the project. It also pointed to the ongoing Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway as a strategic infrastructure project expected to improve transportation, strengthen trade activities, and boost economic growth across coastal states in southern Nigeria.

As part of its reasons for supporting the President, the movement praised the signing of the South-South Development Commission Act into law, describing it as a major step toward regional industrial growth, job creation, and social progress across the Niger Delta.
The group also commended the leadership of Samuel Ogbuku at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), noting that the commission has increased project delivery across communities in the region. In recognition of his performance and impact, the Rivers Grassroots Movement conferred on him the honorary title of Trustee of the movement.
In addition, the Rivers group endorsing Tinubu second term praised the contributions of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in strengthening pipeline surveillance and reducing crude oil theft across the Niger Delta. According to the movement, the initiative has helped increase national oil production, improve security in riverine communities, and create employment opportunities for thousands of youths across the region.

The movement also expressed support for Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, praising his peace-driven leadership style and commitment to development across the state. It encouraged him to seek re-election in order to consolidate ongoing achievements and sustain progress.
The group further acknowledged the youth engagement efforts of Seyi Tinubu, noting that his grassroots mobilization activities have strengthened participation among young Nigerians and improved communication between youths and government institutions.

As part of its resolutions, the Rivers Grassroots Movement formally declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Grand Patron of the organization and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies that promote development, unity, and security across Rivers State and Nigeria.
The movement also expressed readiness to seek an audience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to formally present its position and strengthen cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
