The Rivers State Government has officially stated that it has not yet received any resolutions from the Rivers State House of Assembly regarding the recent Supreme Court judgment delivered on February 28, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The statement confirmed that neither the Governor’s office, the Deputy Governor’s office, nor the Accountant-General’s office had received any official communication from the Assembly.
Dr. Danagogo reaffirmed Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s commitment to upholding the rule of law. He referenced the Governor’s statewide broadcast on March 2, 2025, in which he assured Rivers people that, regardless of his personal views, he remains a law-abiding Nigerian. The Governor also emphasized that he would fully comply with the Supreme Court’s decision in the best interest of the state and its residents.
