All is now set for the Virtual End of the Year Fiesta of the Rivers state Foundation Inc. (RSFI) in the United States.
The event, which is slated for Saturday, December 18, 2021, is expected to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Rivers state.
President of RSFI, Chief (Dcns) Linda O.E Middleton, in a statement, says the idea is to make the foundation an iconic brand with broader appeal across geography and strata of society.
She said the virtual event would have Rivers indigenes across the world connect via an online platform.
According to Chief Middleton, “part of what we are trying to do is to use this event to stir each of the 23 Local government areas of the state.
“This is so that they can pursue their comparative advantage, considering the huge natural resources replete in Rivers state.
“The spirit of a new Rivers state is here, and I believe that if we utilize what we have in terms of our resources and culture, we are poised to compete with the best economies in Africa.
“The virtual End of the Year Fiesta of the Rivers state Foundation Incorporated is a starting point for many aspects of our programmes in the nearest future.”
The Chairman of the RSFI Board, Francis Barikor MPH, Chairman Board of Directors and the former President of the forum, Sir Eddie Kaka, commended the Linda Middleton-led exco for putting the event together.
