The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has vowed to usher in a new era of collective leadership, youth inclusion, and transparency as it restructures its internal systems to reflect modern governance realities.
Speaking to party members during a recent gathering, the new leadership declared a firm commitment to fairness, competence, and party ownership by all members.
“We will guarantee collective leadership at all levels. Every one of us here has equal right in this party,” the party stated. “We promise to be totally transparent and just to all members. There is no midway in this business — you are either in ADC or you are not.”
As part of sweeping reforms, the ADC says it will build a technically competent party bureaucracy, implement structured financing systems, and enforce zero tolerance for anti-party activities. The grassroots structures of the party, from the polling units to the national level, will be revitalized to reflect modern realities.
The party also announced that 35% of its leadership positions will be reserved for women, while youths under 40 will be given meaningful opportunities in leadership and decision-making roles.
In a bold move to define its identity beyond individuals, the ADC announced plans to form a 50-member policy committee to set national agendas on health, education, agriculture, technology, security, economy, and infrastructure.

“We shall not leave it to individual candidates to decide what to do with power,” the leadership stressed. “Nigerians must know us as a party with clear ideology, progressive policies, and patriotic governance.”
Calling on citizens to join the party, the ADC reaffirmed its open-door policy:
“ADC is the only party that guarantees equal opportunity regardless of age, gender, religion, or region. Our handshake is across all divides — across the Niger, Benue, and Delta.”
