The Lagos State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into a viral video showing students of Excel College, Ejigbo, Lagos, engaging in smoking, drinking, and dancing inside their hostel.
The incident reportedly took place in April 2025 but only resurfaced online recently, sparking public outrage and condemnation.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to take over the case from the Ejigbo Division. The school principal, who also doubles as the proprietor, was earlier invited for questioning. He disclosed that the students captured in the viral clip had already graduated.

Despite this, the school is said to be cooperating fully with investigators as authorities move to unravel the circumstances surrounding the scandal.
The police assured that findings from the ongoing probe will be made public, stressing that similar misconduct will not be tolerated in Lagos schools.

Meanwhile, the Command has urged school authorities, parents, and guardians to take stronger roles in guiding and supervising their wards to uphold discipline, moral values, and avoid actions capable of sparking public outrage.
